"Water in Fuel " light on - how to drain water from fuel filter on 96 GMC 6.5? Help..
I have noticed that when I start my truck, 96 GMC K3500, the "Water in Fuel" light comes on and will stay on for about 1 minute before turning itself off. I never saw that light in my 97 Burb' - in fact I did not think we had the ability to drain water from the 6.5 fuel filter set up.
I owned a 03' 7.3 Powerstroke that had a specific water drain valve and a short piece of hose to drain the water.
What/how is the process of draining water done on the 6.5?
Do I need to drain it since the light does not stay on?
Any and all help on this topic is appreciated.
Thank you!

Very near the thermostat housing is the WIF drain Tee valve, with the engine running open that valve-water comes out on the ground first then fuel-close it when clean fuel comes.
Might want a bucket under the end of the hose or pull it up and drain into an empty container.
