So this weekend I get to start some minor maintenance on the GMC I traded for a few weeks back. The front center dome light is out ( I made sure the dome override was not on) the back one is working (crew cab). Also all the 'click on' map lights are all burned out.

My question is how do you remove the center dome light cover? I am assuming a gentle pry with a small blade screwdriver - I just do not want to break it.

Also any trick to getting to the bulbs in the roof console round shapped map lights or the two map lights that are rectangle shapped to the left and right of the center dome light?

So it is as easy as having a very small flat blade screwdriver and a small pry on one side of the center dome light and it pops out. Just be careful not to pry too hard. Same applies to the map lights on each side of the dome light.

I also found some small lights that light up the footwell of the driver and the front passenger floor footwell area. These are replaced and it looks very nice inside at night.

Incase anyone needs the part numbers for the bulb here is what I put on the 96 GMC K3500 Sierra Crew Cab:

- Dome light and the two map lights that you 'press to click on' that are on the left and right of the dome light all use the same bulb - Sylvania Long Life #211-2

- The floor well lights that you simply pull straight down to remove (they remind me of the christmas tree lights that pull out of their sockets) are - Sylvania Long Life #194

Hope that help someone. I am still working on the two lights that are part of the roof console. Looks like I'll have to pull the console down to get to those.
