I bought mine with 186k miles, so about 300k km and it would start up fine and dandy. As soon as I owned it a month or so, everything started to leak the problems started. The engine was still in good shape and ran fine, but everything else was falling apart. I only paid $3000 for mine so I didn't get too bad of deal. Just make sure you check for leaks and if the PMD (pump mounted driver) is relocated, the most common place is behind the front bumper since that is the most common problem with these engines. I've seen somewhere that 300k miles (480k km) is a good estimate on engine life, but 300-400k km is a lot of use so it might be worth buying for the right price, under $3500-U.S. dollars. I paid $3000 for mine and it has all the fancy stuff in it but is a 2wd so that's where the extra 500 bucks comes into account since you mentioned its a K2500. They are good engines if you have the patients to work on them and take care of them.

Hoped this helped.

Default I bought mine with about 215,000 miles on the 6.5.

It was a 4x4 and had the LT package. The owner had just put on 4" turbo back exhaust and it ran great. I had to deal with the PMD by relocating it to the front bumper and getting a new one. Other than that it gave no problems. I cleaned the engine bay and that seemed to create some little issues like the wait to star t light used to come on and then go off - after the cleaning it would do that but then start to cycle with on and off before finally going off. Then it would start with no problems. I really liked the truck. It did not have the power of my Excursion with the 7.3 but it had plenty of power and suited my needs just fine. Do the normal checks of the engine before buying and a very complete test drive and ask about any parts that have been replaced or changed by the previous owners so you can get a good history on the engine and the truck. Let us know if you get it and post some pictures! Good luck

~GOD BLESS~
