Default Please help! Chevy M1010 from WI stuck in Indiana!

Hi im visiting family in Indiana and im a long way from home in Wisconsin.

I have a 1985 Chevy M1010 Ambulance that is an ex Milwaukee police command vehicle. My problem is that I went to go start it this morning and its just cranking. Cranks and cranks strong and lets out a little poof of smoke out of the tailpipe occasionally but wont start. Its got a new fuel pump on it and a new fuel filter. I put a clear tube on it coming from the ignition pump. I believe its getting fuel. The glow plug relay(the older one that looks like a ford starter sylenoid) is clicking loud. Just doesnt want to fire. I got it with 50K miles a year ago and now it has 90K miles, I drive it alot. I really need help fast to get it started and get it home. Let me know if you need any more info from me! any help would be greatly appreciated. I really need help! Let me know on here or if possible you can call me or text me at 414- three nine seven- 6 six 4 six. Plese help!

If you have a test light-check for power at the glow plugs.
Could be your fuel has gelled if the temps got cold enough-does it have a block heater you could plug in?

Try cracking an injector fuel line loose from and injector and see if the injection pump is sending fuel to the injectors.

If all you do is need it to start, spray some WD-40 in the intake, it'll get it started, not as hard as starting fluid, make it smoke a lot at first. Then just get it back to Wisconsin. Mine did the same thing, turns out that 4 of my glow plugs weren't working, put new ones in and it'll start when the engine is under 10 degrees. Should be too hard to change on the 6.2. Block heater will help if ya got access to it, really on do the WD-40 trick as a last resort, like using starting fluid, just not as hard on the engine, probably only do this if you need to get back to work, other than that, glow plugs. It should be noted that I got mine started with the WD-40 when is was 20 degrees out and barely got it to work, much colder might not, but my starter was also on its deathbed slow cranking.
