Default 6.5 TD Turbo and Electrical Problem?

Ok long story short just bought this truck last week did a whole check list of things to check for these motors before you buy and it passed. No blowby, turbo was good, Started up fine hot and cold, had no heat problems (stayed under 210 ). But on the drive home the harmonic balancer broke. I drove it like that for a couple of days before replacing it no damage done. This whole time an engine light has been going off intermittenly. Stays on when idling or holding RPM but when braking or accerlating it would go off. Drove it a couple hundred miles over a weekend with no problems whatsoever then just yesterday the light came back and she started to run over 210 according the stock gauge but only after about 2 minutes of driving. I took it to a shop and a MAF code came up and wouldnt go away. Shop who appreantly knows diesels says it is an electrical problem and my stock gauges are probably screwing up. Any insight? Second problem when accerlating hard once i noticed the boost gauge go up to 20+ lbs of boost didnt realize at the time stock should only be 10 and this thing hasnt had a tune or turbo upgrade. It has been 4 days since then but only now does smoke come out of the oil cap and dip stick. Blow by? Fried piston rings? Reason for high boost? Any insight on this?.
Truck has aftermarket kill switch, boost gauge, PMD relocated, K&N filter, turbo back exhaust to stack. 189,000 miles. For any clarification let me know. Just got this truck and paid a higher price for it thinking it wouldnt give me problems

Your truck doesn't have a MAF sensor so they used the wrong code reader to give you information-a paperclip is all you need to retrieve codes:

Wastegate tied shut or does the truck have a turbomaster set too tight?

Thanks yeah there is not a shop around where i live that knows anything about these trucks. Took the intake elbow off and there was just a little bit of oil sitting in it, turbo had no shaft play but it looks as if the wastegate is stuck. There might have been a turbomaster at one point because theres a T in the vacuum lines that now has been blocked off. I ordered a set of mechanical Oil psi and Water temp gauges just to be sure its not electrical. But i believe the engine has something goin on inside it with the amount of smoke that comes out of the oil dip stick and cap when the trucks warm. Might be swapping a 1993 motor in if i have to. Any tips with that swap? ive read for a 1997 but not for an earlier truck. Thanks again

To clear things up the SES light is probably from the turbo boosting too high and causing defueling. Wastegate arm does not move but when driving if i let off the throttle when boosting you can hear it release air.

Just transfer all the electrical components and IP from the 97 to the 93 engine and then have a TDCO relearn and maybe even a passlock relearn done.

Might want to look into a turbo upgrade like a HX40 or ATT?

Its a 1995 not a 1997 (i wish it was) so is it just the IP that id have to switch over? Im not goin to upgrade it really just want to get it on the road and reliable it is my DD.

Same answer as above.

You will need to repair the wastegate or use the turbo from the 93 and eliminate the vac system except for the boost solenoid-it must stay.
