I love mine.... very true statement above "if u know the quirks n bugs!"
Parts are cheap and plenty if you know where to look, don't depend on any shop that you don't train yourself There is a great troubleshooting section in here find it and read it, print a copy & give it to any shop you may need to take the truck to. It will save you hundreds if not thousands in wasted labor and changed parts that weren't bad.

The 6.5 can be addicting .....
Personally I like the 96-00 but some swear by the mechanical IP in the 93-95? its a personal thing. Parts, number of places on the Web, RockAuto has generally anything you need at good prices, Kennedy Diesel has some good stuff and they are the "Go Too" IMO of performance, any Bing/Goggle search will find any # of available suppliers. As with any old girl, you need to be gentle and follow the maintenance to a "T". She isnt going to be the fastest or most powerful on the road but if you keep your foot out of it (under 70 for me) I can get about 23-26mpg highway with the wife & 4 kids rig fully loaded for vacation. There are some good and very helpful people around here, Good luck and enjoy.

Yes ive liked it since i bought it. hasnt gave me any trouble only thing ive did to it is change the glow plugs. as the ones that were in it were stock from 94. other than regular oil changes havent had to touch the enginr.as anote i run two stroke oil in my diesel very small ratio maybe a pint to 25 gallons helps lubricate the injection pump and help it last longer and the injectors.as todays diesel isnt as lubricating as it was when the 6.5 s first came out.good luck n enjoy the ol girl.treat her good n shell treat u the same!
