If the scanner will not read the truck at all then you have found your problem. The question is what ? first off what kind of scanner is he using ?
Any decent OBD2 should work but just curious. I had a knockoff scanner that would not read my '02 Cummins for some reason. Assuming the scanner is fine check all the wires on the connector. Also check all the fuses including the ones under the hood. If none of that avails then I would start looking for an ECM. Give Bill Heath a call at Heath Diesel. He is real good with ECM stuff.

MT2500 ? They have been known to have issues with 6.5td's . You are saying(I know redundant but I gotta ask )two OBD2 scan tools so far will not even read ANY codes or connect to the truck ?
Then try the things I said. That is your problem. If th ecm is fried that will affect everything. So can grounds or broken wires. Check all fuses even under the hood.
