Default 6.5L check engine light

I have a 95 6.5 suburban with a #9 resistor in the PMD and when im driving down the road and holding a steady speed and rpm the check engine light comes on. If I'm on cruise or just normally driving the light comes on I let off the pedal for a second or kick off cruise and the light goes off. Any suggestions would be helpful if someone know what is going on would be appreaciated.

His is OBD-I auto part scanner won't work, he will need to jump pins A & B in the diagnostic port with key on and count blink sequence of the CEL/SES ligh to "read" the code, or go to a shop that still has GM tech 1 capability, anybody with a OBD-I would be well served to get this for their laptops Engh Motors - Makers of GMTDScan, the PC OBDI/ALDL scan tools for 1994-1995 GM 6.5TD trucks.

Dooob! somehow I thought I saw "96"... wont the OBDI (auto parts stores have scanners w/OBDI adapters) show code?

If they have one I doubt they do, and common "readers" if you can find one are not much more than a paperclip with a light bulb held in plastic body that blinks. You pretty much to do any real time diagnostics use a tech 1 tool or the laptop software I linked to before.

Will the truck remeber the code? because when I let off the throttle the light goes off meaning that the truck cleared the code?

We have a 6.5 in the work truck we have and it constantly throws a check engine light on while driving also, it ends up being the cps every time but then it goes back off we've already replaced it but it continues to do it

If it is a hard code it may, most time though it is "forgotten/overwritten" if condition clears, OBD-I you really need a Tech-1 or laptop scantool to view historical code setting that does not set a constant CEL/SES light

What is the specific code you are reading ? does it stay or is it intermittent ?

I recommend you start your own thread as it is easier to manage diagnostics vehicle by vehicle vs. multiple vehicles in 1 thread.
