Less expensive to have your injectors rebuilt with new nozzles and set properly, easier to buy new injectors and have them checked and install them 1 bank at a time.

It's up to you to decide what route is best for you, price the nozzles and having the bodies rebuilt first to see how things price out?

that injector socket, is that just a regular deep socket? Or a special type? It looks like just a deep socket

The injector socket is a special socket in that it is designed to clear the return line nipples and it also has the hex on top as a provision to access injectors under turbo charged engines.

Some just use a 12 point deep socket though.

Ok, im going to buy a good torque wrench and that injector socket and get started. I went to the rock auto website and there was alot of good info there too. I now know that i must change all the injectors at the same time in order for it to run correctly. It seems that there are several different types of injectors to get for my engine that will fit my engine. Which one do i get? Theres a few to choose from..

Started wrenching professionally in 1987(working on farm equipment long before though)-got my mechanics licence in 1990,automotive and truck/coach.
Worked at a GM dealer 3 different times, major chain store shops and general shops, farm equipment dealers as well as at home in my own shop that is almost as well equipped as most pro shops.

That and owning a 6.5TD that has that has had almost every common problem they share keeps my hands dirty occasionally.

Forums like this and google bring me up to speed on things that are fuzzy in my memory-search is your friend.
There are a great many diesel forums on the net,and others experience makes the chore easier-as you are finding out.
If I can help,I will try.
