I had a PMD that failed throw grey smoke and run like a dog,it also had a runaway condition.

pdm was replaced about 4 months ago with a relocation kit

Is there a resistor in the PMD?

Unlikely that timing could have jumped-the timing chains are almost lifetime service,have not heard 1 ever failing.

the timing should also be adjusted from a tech2 scan tool along with timing chain and or gears to. atleast thats what a garage told me.. said they can do it for $60 bucks and its happens alot on these 6.5 engines. not sure if its true but hey if i knew everything i wouldnt be on a site like this asking questions right

94,95 with the electronic IP require the use of a scan tool like a tech 1 or tech 2 with OBD1 expansion module or GMTD ScanTech(a laptop based program)to set TDCO,electronic timing.

96+ can use the KOKO (key on,key off,Google it)method for TDCO relearn but need a scan tool that will display the TDCO value or use a scan tool that can initiate the TDCO relearn procedure.

mine is a 1997 ... so how many times do i do that? i tried googling KOKO but all its shows me a is gorila named KOKO

well $1500 bucks later and it's running again... injector pum took a crap.. npt bad consdering it had 352,000 miles on it
