Default 1992 Chevy 2500 6.2L Non-Turbo Problems

I baught this Ole Chevy a couple weeks ago and i got a problem, the truck seems to struggle going up hills like crazy, ill try to get a running start going up hills at like 60 and by time im at the top ill hit like 35-40 ish if im lucky. and it struggles to get up to 55-65.

I'll go to take off and the truck will take off steatly and then it will jump and get a big burst of energy.

I got a check engine light on, came up as TPS.
I also looked into the truck because it does smoke a lot, and i hurd the inection pump could cause a rough idle, and i do go a slightly rough idle how ever i did post a picutre of the injection pump lines if anyone could tell me if they should be lined up or if what i got is okay.

the transmission doesnt seem to slip, just doesnt shift correctly. if i mash the gas it will down shift and wont go anywhere the engine just acts like its on the rev limiter and slows down

looks like someone adjusted the timing on the injection pump, to give more power, both lines should be opposite like on my truck, its no speed demon, its a truck to move heavy loads. I would take it in to diesel shop and have them do a tune up on it, they can check the engine speed and timing and do necessary adjustments for you. The trucks use a computer to shift the automatic trans, so if the ecu gets a bad reading from the tps it will upset the gear changes a certain speeds.

Let us know how you get on?

These trucks are built like tanks and will keep on ticking if you look after them.
