I dynoed this weekend and i forgot to lock the converter so here is why and how.

When using the new style tranny controls in the scan tool and locking the trans in 5th gear you must also lock the converter. I was under the understanding that if i had it in Tow Haul it would lock after 2nd gear anyway.....WRONG!!!!! I will have to wait till spring to see what my truck will do, i did 500 hp with no converter lock. We dynoed another truck and that is when we figured the lock deal ..it cost that truck 90hp not locking the converter. We did back to back runs one locked and the other not locked.

I thought i would give you guys a heads up so you don't waste your money on the dyno fee..i wasted 50.00

 

Dang Steve, that sucks bud.. Thanks for the heads up though.. I sure figured you for over 600 with the MPI setup and everything..

 

I was figuring i would come in around 560....I think i will after installing a airdog or a fass this winter. I don't think i will break 600 but hell you never know.
