just back off for that shift.. you can count the gears as the trans is shifting up thru them. so when it gets ready to shift to 5th, just let off the pedal and let it shift, then roll back into it to keep it from downshifting.

I would even still be a little careful rolling into it in 5th, thats when i limped mine. Of course my tune was considerably larger than 70 horse

well i'm playing on doin this with a 200hp tune. just for a couple runs. so yeah i guess i'll just let it shift and hopefully the guy i'm racing wont be close enough for slight time i'm off the pedal to matter.

I ran mine on a tune that was around 150 horse all the time since early this summer and didnt have a problem until i turned my pulse width way up to do some experimenting, thats when i finally limped it So as long as your nice to it on the shift you'll probably be fine

I just put mine in.........My first time inside a transmission.
I had the pan off/on 5 times trying to figure out what I did wrong...
My first mistake was NOT looking at your pictures first! The instructions with the transgo JR are pretty crappy.

My first mistake was I missed putting the little black pin in the slot when i put the valve body back in the trans. It wasnt hard to figure out that SOMETHING was wrong, cause it would NOT come out of park!

So the pan comes off again, off comes the valve body again.. after I saw your pics, I immediately knew what I did wrong. It didnt hurt anything, the shifter was just stuck in park.

So we get it back together, it helped to take the shifter "just" out of park when putting the valve body back in, gave me a bit more wiggle room.

Got that squared away, put everything back together, filled it fill of fluid and I got a DTC code, PO877. The trans is in limp mode, all I got is 3rd and reverse.

Now I am starting to panic, there wasnt anything wrong with this trans, the truck just has a bit over 10K on it and its an 08 GMC. I'm think I screwed this up and now I got to come out of pocket 7,500.00 for a trans...

I take everything back apart, including yanking the valve body back out. I see no issues. I re do the trim valves and its all looking good. I put it back together again and I got the code back immediately after clearing with a code scanner.

I cant call Ron @ Suncoast cause its Sunday, I cant call Transgo tech for the same reason. So, I take it apart again, checking all the connections, and looking for anything that might give me a clue. I didnt see squat.. Seriously frustrated by this time and thinking I got to spend big bucks to fix my trans that wasn't broken........Wondering why I always modify my stuff till its broken.

Tired of assembly and reassembly, I wait till Ron gets in on monday morning. I give him a call and he laughs... 877 huh? He said you got an O ring thats out of place on the blue plastic thing. He'd done that before himself. I take this apart again, and just like he said, an o ring at the very back (towards the rear tires) was out of place. I put it back together, praying that was all that was wrong and wha la, after I reset the trans with the quad stealth 2, I got no code and no engine light.

After all this, I COULD PUT ONE OF THESE IN DRUNK & BLINDFOLDED. I guess I got what NOT to do covered.

Hope this helps someone else.
