I was in the Navy and we called it, "EB Green"... EB (Electric Boat) was the name of the submarine builder in Groton Connecticut and EB would use miles of the tape on subs when they were building them. Hopefully not used to keep water out of the sub though.
I get a few rolls of the green stuff every now and then from the Air Force, that stuff is AWESOME! so far it's the only stuff I've liked more than 3M duct tape. sticks to itself extremely well and takes a lot of heat and water before it gives up.
