their not actually holding the car to do the burnout, theyre holding it straight until it gets the tires going so that it doesnt end up sliding sideways, ive see this done many times before at the track and on the street

That guy prob had the e-brake on as well. Still not saying it has the power/torque of a DMax, but it had more than a few guys holding it still.

the car is too light on the rear that it would drag the rear tires to to a burn out. cause it doesn't have enough torque to break the static friction of the front tires. and the static friction of the front tires are greater than the rear tires so he has to get the front tires spinning cause then the friction on the front tires would be less than the rears.

It does help more than you think. I have a FWD 94 Olds Cutlass and I used to use the E-brake to do burnouts and make fun of the civics around town. It prob helped that I had a stereo weighing about 100 lbs in the trunk over the rear tires, but it does help quite a bit. I also did this in several Olds Alero rent cars I had over the years (I beat rent cars religously) and it worked on those too which had nothing in the trunk. These were both autos not stick so I couldn't even dump the clutch.

yeah but with the e-brake on, the car will get dragged. my co-worker has a fwd car and it will do that.
