JR wont win Daytona but he is going to show that he has the right team under him this season. He will finish strong but not like the Daytona he had in 2001. What he is looking for right now is a team that can not only build and tune the car the way he wants it but also make the changes on the fly that he needs. Overrated??? I dont think so, look at his record as well as the team member changes he has had.

Who cares about Budweiser?? This is about racing cars not big corporate sponsors who want to suck up all the money and leave the sport out to dry. Lets get back to REAL NASCAR racing when corporate money didnt pollute it. IE.. Tide car??? What they hell does Tide have anything to do with racing cars??? Banks, semi-conductor manufacturers, shaving cream, orange juice, toothpaste, and cigarette cessation??? Is this what motorsports has come to??? MONEY instead of the passion for the race???? Dont see this BS in MotoGP.

Now we've got Gordons and Johnsons being sponsored and heavily promoted by companies that have no business in NASCAR. The new media and uncontrollable young drivers have turned the sport into a circus. NASCAR is looking the other direction because of all the big money that is flowing in. Its almost like an NBA playoff game except it happens every race.

GO DALE!!! Make your daddy and grampa proud!!!!

We ARE getting back to some real racing it looks like (finally) but the money train isnt going to stop...Nascar is a marketing machine much like NFL football is. Why the sponsors that 'seem' to have nothing to do with racing???? Cmon Tracy, you do enough sales and marketing to see the relationship...Tide?? Cmon, 300,000 rednecks at a race and what, no one does laundry?? Of course they do...Texas Instruments DLP?? They all watch tv when they cant see the race live...They all eat cereal...they all wash their hair!!

I dont think I need to go on, do I?? You dont see it in MotoGP for one reason...fan base...even though it is a popular sport, there is nowhere near the fan base, so the advertising dollars arent being seen there yet.

But yeah GO DALE!!!!

Hey Brad, rewind 20 years and tell me what NASCAR looked like and why.
Europeans seem to be smarter than us dont advertise laundry soap on their machines.

Please tell me that comment about MotoGP was a joke. MotoGP is WAY bigger than NASCAR. Lay off the sauce Brad.

GO DALE!!!

Worldwide, yes I will give you that, but I was talking North America fans since that is the only place Nascar runs, and Canada and Mexico were only added last year and only for the Busch series...

Nascar still has the larger fan base in the US and Canada, both live and televised. However, there is no network coverage of MotoGP and if this changed then I can see the popularity grow in leaps and bounds. Back to the advertising, if you have marketing dollars to spend, why would you put laundry soap that is only available in N America on a bike racing in Italy, or France....???

Where was it 20 years ago??? It was the old 'Race em on Sunday, Sell em on Monday' type of thinking, the manufacturers were much more important than the drivers of course. Today there are fans that have a favorite driver but dont know what brand of car he is driving...Is this an issue?? I dont know, are we talking about driver skill, or who manufactures the best cars?? Since the cars barely resemble anything the public can actually buy and drive I think you would agree it is becoming about driver skill, and the manufacturers will take a back seat.

At the end of the day does it really matter which one is bigger??? No, it just matters that you enjoy whatever sport you choose to watch...I watch GP at times, but its just not as exciting to ME as Nascar...I know hundreds of people that think Nascar is ridiculous....

Personally I dont enjoy watching football or baseball....but lots of others sure do!!

Oh yea...GO DALE!!
