Default thinking about sellin...

i have been playing around with the idea of selling my truck. my wife is due sept 12th and it would be nice to have a crew cab truck.. right now my 01 is extended cab and there is not much room in the back of those trucks..and i was thinking of getting a dmax instead of a cummins just for a change of pace but holy crap are those trucks expencive. i dont wanna spend more than 27k and i dont wanna truck with more than 60k miles on it..and sorry PS guys but ford is out of the question.....so if anyone knowes of a nice chevy or dodge crew cab long or short bed 4x4 truck for sale with auto trans let me know.....

Come on, its no secret that the early build 6.0s had a few issues and it wasnt' everyone of them that had that issue, it was a handfull and those are the only stories you heard. People don't get on the forum and praise there good luck with a truck, they do however complain when they have any bad luck.
I have an 03 6.0 and it runs like a raped date with 66,000 miles on it and not one problem other than pulling and cleaning the EGR one time. 66k isn't alot but most of the 6.0s that had any issues had them in the first 10k miles. Did i mention I run mine on the old french fry grease that they toss out at McDonalds? Flaky injectors on the PSD people say? I have been running used vegi oil through them for the past 20k miles now and it actually runs better on it.
Try doing that with a durasmack. The cummins will tolerate waste vegi oil but there IP won't. Them danged IPS...and Ford doesn't have one to be a problem....hmmm.
Every truck manufacturer has a reliability issue of some kind. Ford is having issues on the new 6.4 with the particulate filter on the exhaust right now....big deal, its not like its shelling trannys. Dodge has its querks (Trannys) and so does do the Chebies (injectors). They all have there problems.
I hate to see this new website getting such a heavy slant towards "Dodge is superior" like the CF did. Of couse the CF is named as such but this one isn't.... and thats the reason i came here. The majority of members on here are Dodge people and I have nothing against Dodge personally but i get sick of hereing the constant attitude towards Ford with nothing to back it up. :mad2:
Okay, i'm done... Sorry about the slight hijack.

Ford's are just way to expensive in my world. I looked at them first when I got this Cummins but the prices were out there.

Chevy only had injector problems on the LB7 motor which they upped the warranty up to 200,000 miles on those engines. Not saying they didn't have a problem but to lump all the duramaxs into one group would be like saying all the ford diesels had problems with head studs stretching and blowing head gaskets. I am not knocking ford as I believe that the ford, dodge and gm all have their issues and advantages.

Good luck on finding a truck.

Believe it or not, around here Fords are less expensive than the Dodges. The other day I looked at an 08 King Ranch 4X4 3500 Crew Dually and the price was 48k, but went across the street to the Dodge dealer wanted 50k for a 2500 SLT 4X4 that didn't have anywhere near the equip. Haven't looked at the Chevys.

And as Clay said they all have their good points and they all have their bad points. We are all going to have problems in one form or another.

the only bad things i ever hear about them are here on line.

every one locally i know has one loves them.
same with cummins.

but i hare never heard much good about 6.5's chevy's
dmax haven't been around long enough to make a good judgement call...
