I have a roofer for a friend.. union etc.

I do know they split into crews depending on job size, one lead and the rest grunts. usually that's all the supervision they have or need. so all in all it depends on if you get a good crew or a bad crew.

 

roofing is not that hard. as you can see, they can afford to go down to the corner of home depot to pick up there labor.

my uncle and his son just did his roof last year themselves. cost them around $3,000. i think it was about 2000 square feet of roofing.

 

Just wait tell some of your neighbors roofs are done then inspect them all and use the contractor that did the best work.
