Is there like an industry standard? I saw one that was 2GB and it held 250 songs. It that pretty universal for all of them? By simple math a 4GB will hold 1000 songs?

I have 4 Ipods.

A 2GB that I use in the shop for my work tunes.

A 30GB Video that I took as payment for some work. (Don't Currently Use)

A 80GB Video wired into my vehicles. I currently have just over 62GB of music on it. Absolutely love having it. Beats CDs hands down. Have had it for Just over a year.

A 8GB Iphone. Has been great. Use it for all the other features. Only use the Ipod function when doing computer work at busy place (airport etc...), or while at the gym.

All that being said. The best bang for the buck is a 30GB Video. More music than most people will ever own, has a big enough screen to make viewing/selecting songs easy, gives you the option to load video for a plane trip. Will have all the search functions, etc...

I picked up an iPod Nano today. I got a $10 off because it was an open box. I hope it don't make me trendy. I'm on Itunes getting some Ray Wylie, Kevin Fowler, and Stoney Larue right now.

I was going to recommend an iPod seeing as how I am on my 3rd one and like em. The old/original ones before they got trendy had some battery issues and had some short lives thanks to that, but apple fixed that problem a couple ipod generations ago.

The only thing I dont really like about the ipod is it cant play every file type, like if you have wmv video you have to convert it to the apple standard. I had some iffy crap with some music files as well a while back but for the most part I love my ipod, except for the fact it doesnt hold as much music as I'd like. (looking for a bigger replacement sooner than later)

remember there is software for ipods to regular mp3 music, the program works with windows same way as an ipod does with a mac puter.
