Default Gas In Oil

I changed the oil in my 05 1500 Quadcab and noticed it looked realy milky and watery, and it just about smells like pure gas. Radiator not low either. The truck only has 16k miles on it. My wife drives it to work only 2 miles one way. And it has no modifications except I put a Dynomax Ultra flow muffler on it. I have had the truck since Sept 05 and bought it new.
There is no smoking at all and the engine is nice and quiet. The last time I drove it, it seemed like the power sucked butt, but just figured it was due to me driving the diesel all the time. And I have noticed that mileage sucks.
Anybody have any ideas what this could be? Is there a chance the fuel injectors are screwed up like they do in the diesels?

sounds like it's runnin REAL rich..... do you have any SES lights on or any codes? could be an easy fix like an O2 sensor.... could get a lil compilcated like a fuel pressure regulator.... or it could be the computer itself..... there's a lot that :q: could :q: be wrong.....

EDIT it isn't skipping is it? take a nice little drive and let everything get to opperating temp and check your Cats and see if they are glowing..... that'll indicate a REAL RICH situation.....

No codes, no skipping or missing. runs and sounds fine.
I was kinda afraid that it could be a bunch of different things. Thankfully that truck is covered bumper to bumper for 100k miles. Other than this oil change all have been done at the stealership. And oh yeah, I have reciepts for my stuff including the oil filter that came from the dealership.

One problem may be condensation. ONly running 2 miles to work doesn't allow it to run at operating temperature long enough to evaporate any condensation in the engine. Usaully not as big of a problem in gassers but 5 minutes to work would still be a problem.
That being said, I think it would be hard to build up that much condensation unless it's never run any longer than those 2 miles. A good 1 hour ride should take care of any that has built up.
??

Thanks, that does make sense, because that is pretty much the only time it gets driven and there was condensation on the inside of the oil filler cap.
But why would it smell like gas, and really strong?

heath has this 100%. i can always tell our "short drive" customers by the underside of their oil cap. if there is a way i'd suggest a slightly longer route for her. atleast 15 minutes or so. just a suggestion.

also mike, and this is my opinion, it has always seemed to me that dodge has ran their gassers a little richer than what i've seen in gm and ford. my 98 i had with the 5.2, uncle's 98 with a 5.2, cousin's 97 with the 5.9, and cousin's 02 with the 4.7 have always smelled rich at the exhaust and during lof's. i think they just flat out run more fuel. maybe they build the motors a little looser and some gas slips by the rings until the engine warms up a bit.

Thanks for the answers guys. It is greatly appreciated. So what you all are saying is that, the truck really needs to have me run it up and down the interstate a few times a week and all should be good? There is no other route for her to go to work and it is through traffic, so the truck never really gets above 20-25 mph for that short time.
Thanks again for the responses.

yah get it out on the highway and run it for 1/2 hour or so at speed. it must run about 2000 rpm or better at interstate speeds i'm guessing. rpms build heat and that's the only thing that's gonna clear this up. i think, IMO, she could let it idle in neutral in the am's for 10 minutes or so too. gassers don't seem to be affected by idling as much. mine never saw any damage from it anyway.
