Well I took your advice and last night I went out and rode the Teryx... Here's what I thought:

Good:

-Decent engine, doesn't seem as fast as it should be for the 750 V-Twin, but it'll scoot.

-Nice handling Chassis, it'll stick to turns until you really start to push it, then it understeers like mad. If you do it right you can swing the tail around at speed.

-Upright seating gives you a clear view up ahead, and the roll bar feels solid.

-Has a bigger bed than I figured it would, nothing huge, but usefull for hunting, or farm chores.

-Great ground clearance for the rough stuff, should make getting high centered a chore.

The Bad:

-The engine is quiet, which you'd think would be a positive, but I want to hear it!

-The power is weak compared to a Rhino or RZR (which I also drove last night...while it was snowing), and getting it to oversteer at speed is tough and scary.

-Turns at speed feel tippy, unpredictable, and pig-ish...This thing is HEAVY!

-No Park?!? Neutral and setting the parking brake just sucks compared to a Park setting for the transmission.

-Ummm...Gauges?

-The foot guard will bust off in no time if you plan on using the ground clearance...One rock and that thing is toast.

-You need a screwdriver to get the hood open, not a biggie, but kind of a PITA compared to the competition.

The Verdict:

This is one nice machine, and you really do need to drive one, but for a company like Kawi, who has had tons of experience on the Mule...This one falls short. I love the V-Twin engine, but it feels overtaxed in this machine, one because its too heavy, and two because it suffers from a restrictive intake and exhaust. The machine should keep up on the trails with the Rhino, and beat the RZR through the technical stuff, but on a open track, it won't be winning anything. This one goes to 3rd place in my book, and I'm a little disappointed.

As for the RZR, here's my opinion:

The Good:

-Wicked styling, wicked stance, lighter then the competition.

-The Sportsman engine is even more powerful feeling in this "Buggy", and makes for one hell of a ride.

-Suspension tuning is near perfect, the machine is predictable, and never makes you feel out of control.

-Driving position is the most comfortable out of the 3, and the seats are all day long comfortable.

-Solid 4wd system should make most obstacles a breeze, even with the limited ground clearance.

-Nice Gauge package towards the center of the dash, high enough you never have to take your eyes off the trail.

-Passenger side "Oh ****" Handle is great for weary passengers.

-Accessories make this thing a home away from home, and give it more capability than any other stock machine.

-Super Low center of gravity makes even the most aggressive turns feel stable.

-Shorter wheelbase is great for tight areas. Narrow width means it can fit down any trail.

The Bad:

-Its short...I'm 6'1 and I almost sit down into the machine, rather than sliding in, mostly because of the sports car type seating.

-Low, low, low...It has decent center clearance but the rocker panels better be well protected because they will take a beating.

-Small bed...its useful, but not for chores, this is more for hunters, fisherman, or anyone who won't be loading much of anything on the bed.

-Fun on the weekends, but wouldn't muster up on the farm.

The verdict:

Polaris has broken the mold with this one. From the super sport handling, to the aggressive styling, to the Lock and Go accessories, this machine takes the cake. While its utilitarian roots are fading fast, in the world of sport side-by-sides, the RZR is the top dog. This takes a page from the Rhino, then turns everything up two notches, and leaves the big bed and a lot of its daily use-ability to its big brother the Ranger. This will certainly change the side-by-side revolution.

Nice post.
The floor boards have a complete metal under lay and most likely will not break. But it could use the rock rails on the sides and yes the motor i would have thought to be a little more guts but i will know soon as i am putting a 900 stroker kit in one from 4-stroke tech. That should be the missing link to the teryx. and the suspension it could use a little work butnothing major. and if you buy the LE version it will have the gauge like the brute force has and it will have a dump bed and a roof and half windshield.

So far I rate it a 2 out of the 3. The rzr is to low and to small for me too at 6 1' also.

And for the Rhino it tips to easy as I have seen with a few of my buddies. Thats the only thing I do not like about the Rhino and The V-twin just needs a little fine tuning it comes from Kawasaki to rich in the carbs.

And I would have thought that it would of been efi like the new bruteforce 750

But i like the Kawai and will just keep fine tuning it.

It wasn't the floor boards I hated, it was the foot guards, next to the pedals, that keep your feet from coming out of the body...Their PLASTIC!!! I hated that, and the suspension could use a sway bar, or some stiffer springs up front, if you get into a turn and hit the brakes to slide the rear end out you end up just plowing with the front tires, needs work there.

The RZR wasn't at all small, it just sits lower, so you have to sorta squat down to get in it... Once I was in there it was nice and comfy, with plenty of leg and knee room. I love the Rhino's, and I've never had a problem with them tippin, but their too wide, ad don't fit down a lot of narrow trails.

naa ill stick with my rhino. for the areas i ride the teryx would not be able to hang. it is just too wide. i just fit thru the trails and there ae some trails that i have to really work to get thru. i am sure out in the desert or somewhere where its width wont hurt it is a sweet machine....
