Default A Math Riddle

Somebody explain this to me. Me and my kids birthday's are just four days apart. A few years ago I noticed something and just thought of it again a few weeks ago when another year of my life passed.

When I turned 36, my kid was 18. So I was twice his age. Now I'm 44 and he is 25.
25 X 2 = 50. I'm not twice his age anymore, so is he catching up to me in age. If I live long enough will we be the same age someday.

I'm so confused.

You'll always be the same number of days older than he is. That number will just decrease in proportion to your total age as you grow.

Zeno you are not.

LOL! No, but, if you're lucky, in about ten years he'll just seem like a slightly younger friend.

In reality, he was older than you the day he was born.

This is BAD, but true. You didn't even have to meet us in person to realize this.

It still seems to me that one of these years in the future we will be the same age though.

36-18=18
44-25=19 ??
