Once again people are thinking that traffic infractions operate on terms of plausible deniability, evidence and conviction.

Appealing to logic, "justice", right and wrong are irrelevant. It's a money making extortion scheme and the only way to "win" is to ensure that it's not going to make them money; ie. hire a lawyer that's going to take up enough court time that it wouldn't be worth it, so they'll drop it.

 

it all comes down to what judge you get. if you get a judge and say "i was goin 15 under coasting up to the light and i 'accidentally' tapped the pedal" he my say i dont care pay the ticket...or he might be cool and let u off...theres no telling...

 

that would bite hopefully the same cop writes the same ticket to all the ricers and and loud thumping music jerks too.

they can't ticket you for that on private property.. aka a parking lot. the owner of the lot would have to press charges.
