Yeah Brice, I'm a European kinda guy myself. I've got a thing for Audi S4's and R8's. I'll keep dreaming...
You can get Porsche's pretty cheap these days, and they make a quality product. I would never ever ever buy a BMW, or especially a Mercedes. Too hard to work on, super expensive for parts, and Mercs have one of the worst reliability records ever known to man. Great fun to drive, until it breaks.
Mitsubishi Lancer EVO's and Subaru WRX's are hard to pass up. Super quick and well made. I have a friend with a worked Mazda3 Speed. Pushing 400hp but only weighs around 2000lbs. SICK! In the 2 seater category, my moneys on the Honda S2000, (if you only have 30k-40k to spend.) Haven't driven one, but have not read a bad review yet, although I'm sure there are some...
Dude, there are loads of cars. All the old muscle cars the others have said about are cool too. Just don't handle all that well. And from the pic's I've seen of your area, you want good cornering characteristics.
