They give us Permethrin in a spray can to treat our uniforms while we are in the desert. You spray it on your uniform and let it dry a few hours, and it lasts for 8 washings. The critters won't even land on your uniform.
We also get the Deet in a tube. Not the 10% stuff you get in like Deep Woods Off--we get the 33% stuff from 3M.
