WOW I am totally at a loss here I just watched the announcement and The third place vote getting hospital won. And Siemens decided to donate one to the Hospital in first place that already had one but lost it to a tornado.(Nice on Siemens part) I'm sorry but I want an explanation of what or why from Siemens that we were out of this thing. We were definitely in 2nd place.I want to thank all of you guy's who voted but I guess it didn't matter because Siemens picked who they wanted anyways. Don't get me wrong I'm glad this is helping out people somewhere and they probably deserve it as much as we do, but right now I just want some answers. I don't know if I'm just hurt by the decision or really pissed. Anyway Thanks to all of you who took the time to vote

They are definitely going to be contacted. I just need to mello out a bit first. Siemens is a Great Company for doing this in the first placeAnd they did donate another machine (1.5 mil a piece) Like I said it will help a lot of other people. And it is about helping people like you guy's do here. I just need to know WHY!

On the Siemens link you gave, there is a place to look at contest rules, and a link to a "contact us". You fill out a little thing with your email address, etc, and then there is a note box. This is what I wrote:
Thank you for this promotion! It is very generous. I have enjoyed participating in the voting contest on behalf of Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster, WI. I have waited anxiously for the results, since Grant was in second place, first only to a center that already had an MRI, which disqualifies it according to contest guidelines. I was very disappointed to find that Grant was passed over for the MRI, and it went to the center that was third in votes. I am wondering why Grant did not receive the MRI, as it won the most votes.
Thank you for your consideration. I anxiously await your timely response.

I am anxious to hear what they have to say!

This stinks!!! I just got a reply to my email:
After verifying the votes and the Rules and Regulations, Lockport was
deemed the winner based on most votes. Sumter was also awarded a new MRI
as an additional generous donation from Siemens.
Congratulations to both Lockport and Sumter!

So, they are saying we didn't have enough verified votes!

Here is what I got from the Hospital.
Wow what a morning already! In a surprising turn of events both Grant Regional Health Center and Sumter Regional fell short of the necessary votes needed to win the MRI.
Lockport Memorial Hospital of NY was the winner of the contest. Lockport was the hospital with the closest vote count to GRHC. Since votes were tallied at the end of the contest, daily tallies online didn't provide website viewers with accurate totals which led to the surprising contest results. During the count and validation process it was determined Lockport had the most votes. Congratulations to Lockport Memorial Hospital and their community.
As a great public relations campaign, Siemens chose to highlight their compassion to a town ravaged by a tornado and donated an MRI to Sumter.
We need to be proud of our accomplishment and the community support we received. This is worth so much more than a piece of equipment!!

Well we gave it our best shot and fell short. At least it wasn't from a lack of effort. Thanks again all.
Congratulations to the winners.
