I've done the same thing.

 

So have I. When I first came here I think DM had to warn me about 3 times a day and edit my posts.

 

I just clicked on the little guys and that's what showed up.

And no, I don't have a clue where the term came from. It just dawned on me last night that I've heard it forever on high performance sites for cars and trucks but never a word about it's origins.

So far the only thing I have heard about the origins here was in a PM from an old timer who think's it was either TDR, The old now defunct Wildcat Diesel or Scotty of Scotty's air filter fame.

Anybody else ever heard anything different or know anything more about any of these ideas.

 

I thought it was Wildcat thats where the Bombers Poem came from

 

Scotty was involved with Wildcat...

 

It's been a while but as I recall wasn't Scotty from the Great White Northern side of the border and Wildcat was like pennsylvania or something. Not that this means anything but it would have been a long distance partnership. I can't remember the two guys at Wildcat I used to talk to all the time.

Would be neat to see this Bombers poem if anybody has a link to it. I don't remember this.

 

I was going to say that...I thought Scotty coined the term but I wasnt 100% sure on that.
