They just broke in the tv channels. That stuff is falling atleast 13 stories at the edge of the stadium. The glass doors are 12 stories high for comparison. Arlington got 4-6" of snow last night on top of all the ice and it is still snowing. Texas Motor Speedway brought in the air dryers to dry the parking lots and streets around the stadium so it will be dried out later today.
We are at 27* now and the snow/ice are is starting to melt. The sun is out today for the first time since Tuesday. All that and they turned the heater on in the stadium yesterday, it is 73* in there. There is talk about using helicopters to hover over the stadium to get it cleared. But they may cause damage on all the tents and stuff around the stadium.
We are going back down to 13* tonight so everything is going to re freeze and be bad tomorrow until about 3:00 when it finally gets above freezing (for about 8 hours).
The city is happening now, this is the first day of the 4 days minimums on the hotels so people are coming in. There were 600 canceled flights in this morning, but all the airlines are adding flights out of Green Bay and Pittsburgh to get everyone here in time. It is not as bad as people are making it out to be, but it is not as nice as it typically is in DFW this time of year. Our average temp is 54-57* for the highs this week.
Here is a video of snow and ice falling off earlier in the day, look at the truck and tractor that barely missed a load.
