Lawenforcement Using Speeding Viloations For State Fund Raisers
#4
One thing not mentioned in this artilce... Thos fines in VA are ONLY charged against VA RESIDENTS. If you are a non-resident and get pulled over in VA the fines are only about half of that. So, all of the New Jeresy and Maryland drivers that blow by me at about 80 in a 55 zone, will get a reasonable fine (IF THEY GET PULLED OVER), but if I get pulled over doing 65, I have to pay 1,000s of dollars because I'm a freaking resident.
Ain't that somethin?

Jason you will be glad to know that our new sherriff has said the first thing he is going to do is pull all the radar's out the deputies cars and lock them in a closet... He said there is enough state police around to take care of traffic violatations...

Yeah not to get off topic, but I drive the speed limit when possible on the highways here on the other side of the country. Though people like to do 15+ over, and I dont mean just anyone, its like seems 75-80 is the speed limit in everyones minds when the posted is 65.
Just last night, I was driving along doing 70, and this little sports car with his bright HID headlights was coming up behind me so I smoked him. Usually this makes people either change lanes or back off, but no, he kept coming at same speed, so I smoked him again. To say the least, he ended up getting so close behind I could not see the headlights of his car (much less even the roof of it), and if I had barely tapped the brakes, he would have gone under my truck, NO question about it.
I really think law enforcement around these parts needs to focus on the reckless drivers like this one, as this incedent happened in rush hour traffic- I had the power to cause a pileup, though I have some sanity in my mind.
Sorry to wander, I just had to add this, as I think law enforcement needs to focus more on the people who drive like crap in general rather than speeding overall, seeing as how everyone around here speeds.
