i dunno i can think of alternatives.. i think it's sorta a good idea.. but **** limited to boats with a wind shield. a friend of mine gave me his old spot light. it bolts to the top of my cabin and i get a remote to make it go up or down and around..

 

they do look like they would be useful for regular driving at night, look a little dorky during they daytime, but looks removable, but i dont there good enough for night skiing

 

In my opinion, headlights on a boat are worthless. You can't see anything with them. Loading the boat on the trailer they might be helpful or anywhere close to the dock, but not for running at night. All you really need is a spotlight in my opinion

 

x2.... Only time they would be good is in VERY close to the dock. Otherwise they would just hurt your vision.

 

I definitely don't think the idea is worth 100,000. Thats alot of dough

 

Yeah... MAYBE $10,000 for the rights cause some dumb @sses would buy them. But it is not a 100k Idea...

 

kinda reminds me of one of those infomercial things.

it's gets dark here befor we get off the boat now from work. as far as i can see the best thing for night is a radar and plotter.

i agree lights are good for around the docks and other close up objects..
most boats don't go out at night any way

One trip in at dark during some 'roughies' and you'll appreciate being able to see the huge holes before the boat falls in them and your stomach hits the roof of your mouth......

But, that installation setup doesn't look like much...they're too low for anything other than long range pencil beams; floods will just reflect off the boat and make it even harder to see over the bow.

 

We go out in alot of 'roughies' around here... I yell at people on my boat for turing on any light. Your eyes will adjust to the dark. Even on the darkest nights with pit a moon I don;t want a light. Thats when it comes down to knowing how to read a chart and use a compass/GPS.
