What to See/Do & Where to Eat in Vegas....

My wife and I went to Vegas last Christmas. Not the best time to go - I was hoping for warmer temps. We walked and walked and took in a lot of the hotels.
Youve got to hit In and Out for sure.
We bypassed the $45 buffets and ate pretty cheap. Theres Ellis Island a little casino just off the strip (heading East by the Thomas Mack Center). Had a pretty decent steak with a microbrew for $8. The chicken fried chicken was also really good.
Oh and theres "The Pepper Mill" which is on the strip by the Flamingo (i think) - great food, even better service, and good prices as well.
There are a number of very good places to eat that are still reasonably priced. But your got to search them out.
Oh, and if you feel the need to puke - hit the buffet at The Excaliber.....
Thats about all I know (which isnt a lot)....

Long time no chat Rampy!
Go to the top of the Stratosphere for dinner. Make reservations, the whole place spins around while you sit and eat so you get to see the entire view. It's more reasonable than many other places on the strip. The rides up there are over priced. Go down to Fremont Street for the light show and prime rib dinner for less than $10 per person. Was just there in November and had a better meal down there than most places on the strip. If you like country bars, go to Harrah's and in the back going towards the monorail is Toby Keith's I Love This Bar. Good food and beer is much more reasonable than other places we went. The bar tenders fling the bottles and that's fun to watch as well. If you want to see a great show, La Reve at the Wynn was outstanding, expensive, but outstanding.

Me and the crew were just there for SEMA on the 1st of November it was a good time and stuff was DIRT cheep we got rooms for 80 bucks a night on the strip
Pick up those pamphlets at the check in counter that say things like "your guide to vegas" or "free stuff inside" there is free meals free money to blow in the machines or at the tables.
I am cheep as hell and we were there for 4 days and the company covered all expenses for 3 people it cost us about 2400 for everything including fuel for the mega cab to drive 22 hours round trip alcohol and strip clubs
the only thing I did not pay for was gambling and we did not do much of that

Staying on the strip....old school casino/hotel & got some semi good prices.....the Shot Show is going on...so prices ain't superb, but since we are going to the show...
Planning on stopping at In and Out on the drive in for lunch....nothing like a double double animal style while on the road....
Been reading that the steak house in Circus Circus is superb and cheap, now while CC is a haven for wacked out kids and whatnot...that's one of the steak houses where the locals go...
Have wanted to hit Rio's seafood buffet but just not sure....The Bellagio's buffet looks yumie, but dang....so many choices....
Fremont Street is a must...last time we were in Vegas the weather was icky...rainy/cold and all we did other than going to the shot show was walking right around the strip (did see the show O @ The Bellagio) & my *** got sick...
Who has the prime rib dinner for less than $10 on Fremont Street???
Toby Keith's sounds like a fun place to visit.
Not sure if we will make any shows this year....

one thing to add to the dinner at the top of the stratesphere is that it is way spendy, thats where I stayed so we got to go up there for free and decided to eat and for me and the ole lady it was like $80, but you could probaby pick cheaper things to eat while there, but it is an awsome view. Coyete ugly is in the new york new york just to let you know. There are really cheap places to eat and then really expensive places. You can also eat at the top of the efful tower (spelling) but you have to dress real real nice or they wont let you in. Not sure what things you like nut in the mandalan bay (spelling) is the shark reif and fish deal you can go see, and i cant remember which one has the dolphin display and tiger display, I suggest if your there for a couple days to just walk the whole strip and go into every hotel and see everything in them, lots of neat places to see and things to do. Dont go into the m&m shop and buy candy its like $15 apound , I was so pissed. have a good trip I love it down there.
