My "new" Khyber Pass AK47......
This is essentially an AKM (the 7.62x39mm stamped AK in service from about 1960 to 1980) with an AKS-74 "triangle" side folder installed. They are nicknamed Khyber's because Pakistanis in the Khyber pass are probably the first to do this 'conversion,' although the Russians did make some in this configuration in small numbers and you can see a bunch of them in the movie Red Dawn, which is any AK collectors favorite movie.
This rifle was built on an NDS-1KP receiver (top of the line US made receiver) with a Russian side folder, a new condition Hungarian AMD-65 parts kit and a new condition Romanian chrome lined barrel and gas tube. All the of the important parts have matching serial numbers. After building the rifle, she was bead blasted, parkerized & then painted it with molybdenum disulfide.
