Default Gran Turismo 5 disapointment

allright guys. this new game sucks. I havn't played it yet, but from what I have read this game is nothing for any of us.
sure, they got nascar. but thats it. And I am not a huge nascar fan because it is just so fake lately(please dont kill me for saying that)
They have no new ford cars. still on the previous mustang (no new or old 5.0) They have no diesels. of any kind. no 7.3, no 5.9, no 6.6, no 6.7, no 6.0, nothin. and theyve got no drag racing.
so, I dont own a PS3, but I dont plan on buying one.

My little brother has been going on and on about this game and wants a ps3 for christmas just to play it. I'm trying to talk him out of it because its probably a disappointment like the rest of the gt series. Its not a very realistic game,no crash damage and the stuff mentioned in the above post.

you know, i guess for some its a cool game.
My parents literally only buy me food and a place to live. And I dont feel like blowing 300 of my dollars for a new ps3 and 1 game. I've got a ps2, and I got gt4 for it and it was entertaining. but still the only truck was a ram 1500. And theres no 1/4 mile fun. I was truly hoping to see maybe a 6.7 or a 6.4 and quarter mile entertainment on the new game but nope. It must please most, but not me.

Diesels aren't popular with the target crowd and never will be, Facts of life... They have real crash damage now as well, which was one of my gripes as well. But for the sheer number of cars you can drive and mod. I've had all of them now and need to upgrade to a ps3 anyways so I'll buy this one as well... To the op you can't knock it because you havnt played it let alone my guessing you havnt played the others as well?...

no I loved gt4. i've got a badass mustang and camaro on it. but I just dont wanna spend 300 bucks and not get diesels and REAL drag racing. but like i said, I do think gt4 was good for entertainment. My ps2 died, and its either spend 60 bucks on ebay for a new console or 300 for a whole new system and game.

I forgot I put a post in here. Those games are entertaining but I rather spend the money on my truck and get more of a thrill than on a game. The one game I do like is Rigs of Rods where you can offroad, drag race, rock climb and such. The best part about it is how realistic it is and the price...FREE.

You've got at least two diesels in the game that i know of...

BMW 120d and Audi R8 V10 TDI

The GT series have always been and will always be simulators... that's what they're good at..

If you like the NFS series, you buy that... but for me i'll grab any GT game and dominate it !

Drag Racing is something that should be added, i would also like to see the three kings (Cummins, Duramax, Powerstroke) appear in the "game"..

There are millions of ups and downs to the Gran Turismo "games", but i bet this one is better than the others...

I love the fact that you can get a old Mitsubishi Galant VR4 in it...

Forget the gt series. I'm going to design a diesel truck game. Its going to include the 1/4 mile, free roam, and a whole bunch of random crap. And unlimited choices of trucks and you get to customize them down to every little nook and cranny. And awesome damage and crashes. Just for us truck guys. Away with rice burners. I have a ps2 and gt4 and its real fun if your real bored. Power to all the diesel bombers

hahaha hell yes! dude that sounds legit you should actually talk to like microsoft or someone who is lookin to get an edge over sony. But no stupid levels or vehicles are off limits unless you are on this level. You know? If you got the money you should be able to buy it. And make it super realistic, like a DB version of forza 3 pretty much
but, sweet idea
