From the looks of them and what i have heard they are very good saws and i think they are pretty reasonable price wise as well

we owen have been useing sthil for year 046 066 441. They are really great saws. Its the only saws we have had to last when using them 6 days a week.

I have an old 65 husky and a 2071 jonsered that I really like but find them heavy for trail cutting, going to buy a little 2049 for trail cutting and use the 71 for junking fire wood:tu:all the dealers are within 15 minutes from me for most of the major brands

Im thinking about shindaiwa but the only thing that has me undecided is cause its made in japan...but its most likely that ms460 unless i find that 288xp..anyone modify their saws for performance like porting, machining cylinder base for squish?

Stihl 044/440 is my favorite saw of all time, I also have a big bore 066 and you just cant beat the power. I think you need one of these though... :rocking:
|
I was thinking about the 660,but I don't really need thaat much power.I only want to run a 28" bar and that extra 2lbs will kill me over the whole day of luggin it around

Do some research on a Dolmar 7900, if you dont mind doing a little work you can get a used Makita 6401 from Home Depot for under $200 if you get lucky. Then put a 7900 top end on it. People say more power than an MS460 with less weight than a 440

wow Im very impressed with this saw with the mod.baileys sells the saw new with the big bore kit as an option.I really think i will go with this setup.cheaper, lighter, same or more power win win right? Thanks Hyde:tu:
