Unhappy Knee Problems.....

I just got my MRI results back and I have a fractured lateral tibial plateau.

I've been having knee problems for quite some time now. Last year, tendonitis in my (R), and now this. Back in Aug I was chaining down a backhoe and my (L) knee went pop an I fell and they called it a sprain of both knees. They did x-rays and saw nothing. A few weeks ago we were @ Brooks & Dunn concert and I was walking down a small incline and the knee went pop again and down I went, rolling down the hill. I went back to the Doc, they did and MRI they found I have the above mentioned fracture.

Has anybody had one of these? What do they do, if anything to try and correct it? I go see an Orthopedic surgeon next week sometime. From what I've read, surgery appears to be the only option and they install screws and plates.

Very true. This is the worse time of year for me with the cold. The only thing that keeps me going are the pills. I take a non-steroid anti-inflammatory for my arthritis and 1 1/2 vicodin in the morning to get going. Then I have a blood pressure pill as a chaser.

I have had both knees done one of them 2 times. The first one (left) meniscus tear ortho-scopic surgery and back to normal in 45 days I thought. Second one (right) ACL, torn meniscus, dislocated and fractured patella it was moved 1/16 of an inch, commonly called blown out. That one was 6 years ago and not sure I am normal yet but i could run after 1.5 years of therapy and exercise. Third one (left again) another torn meniscus ortho-scopic again and back to normal in 10 weeks.

I will tell you though, after the first one I quit going to therapy because I thought I was good after 45 days. I started playing sports again against Dr's orders. The second one I went through it as he ordered. My major knee surgery (right) today feels better then the one that I had 2 minor surgeries on because I did not go to therapy. I now have a bad back and Dr. says it may be from over compensating for my left knee. So do the therapy even though it hurts, it waste time and it feels like it is doing no good.
