Default Best Gasser......

If you were going to buy a 3/4 ton gasser what would you go with?
Gmc?
Dodge?
Ford?

I had a 3/4 ton chevy 4 door (04) and loved it. I likes the looks and the interior. It was all good, except ran on the wrong fuel.

I loved my 2000 GMC 3500 SRW Crewcab. Just not the mileage from the 454. I would definitely buy another GM truck.

if used you can't go wrong with an old chevy. dependable and easy to get parts for, not to mention cheap too!
i just picked up an 86 3/4 chevy with a 350.

if new somthing with a manual trans and soild front axle!

If it's newer go with a GM. The 6.0L and the 8.1L basically get exactly the same fuel mileage but the 8.1 has a ton more power so try and find one if you can. My FIL has a 6.0 and with an empty truck and staying under 70 he gets low 13's on the a highway trip if he's lucky. Most of the customers that came into the dealership were reporting 10.5 to high 12's for highway mileage. Towing drops you down into the 9's or worse. The GM gas LS series are nearly bulletproof and require very little maintenance. I've personally seen them go over 200K when taken care of.

My father-in-law has a Dodge with a V-10. It's got a lot of *****, but his mileage is really pretty poor. Nice truck though...

GMC absolutely! Strong smooth pulling power with good mileage for a gasser.
