Need creative ideas
So my sons room is decorated in trucks, From semi trucks to tractors really. I'm trying to think of what to do for his curtain rod. I would really like to find a truck/car/tractor what ever part that's long enough or if I could maybe weld two of the parts together to make it long enough. But the problem is it can't be a 100lb curtain rod . I thought a driveshaft would be pretty cool but it would have to be kinda small around and long because two drive shafts welded together wouldn't look to cool.
Semis parts would be the easiest for me to come across since my husband is a mechanic but the parts will more than likely be to heavy. I can always go to a junk yard or ask around and find anything else.

CB/Radio antenna, gear shifters or hang a bumper on the wall with a small rod hanging from the bottom of the bumper.
If you wanna do the driveshaft, it doesn't have to be a real drive shaft. Go to a home improvement store and pick up a light post, one of the outdoor pole lights. Light weight, not expensive and you can put U-joint ends on it and it will look just like a driveshaft.

It needs to be 54" long that's with giving 2" on either side to hang it. How long is a typical truck bumper? All I have here right now is ranch hands so I don't have a regular bumper to measure.

But I was thinking about doing a grill headlights and bumper on the opposite wall an if I could get the lights to be dim enough using them as a night light maybe when he gets older. He sleeps in complete dark right now. Plus his bed is a toddler bed so he won't be in it real long so I'd hate to do all that work for him to not even use the bed very long. I would just get him a regular bed but he sleeps wild and I'd hate for him to have a far fall to the groud.

Lower the bed...
I've seen a couch with headlamps mounted into the arm rests- very cool, kinda 80`style...
Did you thought about building a bed from MDF or OBD like a car? Thats what I would love to have as a kid. Get LED's, their power consumption is hard to beat and they are safe- no risk of electric hazard.
If you were my girl- I would make sure my girl is in my cave after(or before) a wild night

take a standard sized truck bed, and build a frame that goes inside of it to hold a box spring and mattress. wire tail lights up so when you flip a switch they turn on. then you have a badass truck bed as your bed, and you can drop the tail gate and have under bed storage. maybe build a slide out tray for underneath.
