Default Why Not To Use A Body Lift...

This was a call we had today. Toyota pick-up struck a ditch... 3" Body lift failed, the two rear mounts ripped out and the two fronts stayed in causing the cab to roll forward off the frame...

There must be more to this. I know the cab didn't just flip forward while driving, did he hit something?

Struck a ditch... sheared the body mounts off the cab... To much force from the extra 3" block.

IMO I think its probally too much force on that silly little cardboard Toyota frame. I always hate getting those at work because they are so hard to work on cus everything's all shot and rotted.

I beg to differ, I owned a 03 toyota tacoma, and it was hands down the best built truck I have ever owned, I regret selling it everyday. The fit and finish was second to none including caddy's and other high end domestics. Dont take me wrong, I love my dodge but if I had my choice it would be a 12V in a toyota.

ill still run a body lift, that is 1 in how many 10's of thousands that are running them.....looks like either the bolts sheered or the body gave up, more to the store than what meets the eye.

in that pic of the body lift it looks like a bolt head on the top. so that makes me believe the cab was just resting on the lift and not properly installed. the body lifts ive seen bolt into the bottom of the cab just like the factory bushings. could be a hack job that just happend to cost alot more in the long run.
