ATTN Fellow Bombers Fighting Overseas For Us..

i heard something today on the radio that made me think about yall over there and i would like to do something. i do not like giving to larger groups because you never know where your money is going or if it is reaching ya`s over there. so i would like to know if there is anything i can get for ya`s? snacks , magazines , personal items..etc.? if so all i ask is that you let me know where to ship it to..

Benjamin 10-23-2007 05:35 PM

Post up things ya'll miss.... and an address.... you'll prolly be flooded with mail.... someone might even get some stuff from me....:c:

DazedandConfused 10-23-2007 05:45 PM

Post up folks, we will take care of ya.

Diesel Dawgs Performance 10-23-2007 06:00 PM

Sounds good to me just let us know.

MRaynor 10-23-2007 06:56 PM

Count me in also. I agree with Scarecrow, nobody ever knows where the stuff is going and I think this is a great idea.

Post up guys and I know there are some gals. :yeah:

scarecrow 10-23-2007 08:23 PM

WOW!!!.....thats cool yall thanks for the helping hand.......:ty:

2141pete 10-23-2007 09:11 PM

That is great of you scarecrow. I cant speak for everyone but it is great to get the little things you miss. Baby wipes and visene are great but people have been sending them since this thing kicked off. It was hard for me to get the newest issues of diesel power and easy mac. snack food is always good if you miss chow too. I had a family in AZ that found me on the internet and sent me packages and a lady in PA too. If you get an address you to an fpo or apo you are god to send it probly. It is also a good thing to put it attn. (whoever) or if not availible any marine, sailor, soldier, airman.

Just my 2cents

thanks though it is a GREAT thing to do for somebody

babydoll214 10-24-2007 11:49 AM

Hey guys, I've noticed that you aren't getting any responses from people overseas yet. My cousin is in the Army Reserves and over in Iraq right now. I can get his mailing address and maybe some items they want if you guys are really interested. Let me know.

P.S. He has a pretty interesting story. He got sent over there for a 6 month deployment and a few months into it, the hummer he was in hit a land mine. He was supposed to be driving, but he let another kid drive for the first time. The driver did not survive the explosion. My cousin was beat up pretty bad and was in the hospital (it was a tent...) for several months recovering. Once he was well enough to leave the hospital, they sent him home for two weeks and told him his hospitalization did not count towards his deployment so he would have to come back to complete it.

Anyways, that's my story... (Well, his, actually) If you are interested in getting his contact info, let me know.

scarecrow 10-24-2007 12:57 PM

that is fine with me. like i said in my first post. i do not like giving to the large donation places because you never know who is getting what and if they even do get it.....so to answer your question yes find out what he needs or wants and let us know. also we will need a address on where to send the stuff...

Thanks Scarecrow... Caleb (Steph's cousin) is a great guy... What the did to him about not letting the months he spent in a tent getting better instead of sending him home to heal sucked... He broke some ribs and both ankles and got generaly beat up... But he was happy to go right back to fighting for this country after he got better... And we are proud of him. Thanks guys/gals!

babydoll214 10-30-2007 12:46 PM

OK. So I finally got in touch with my cousin over in Iraq. He sent me a huge list of stuff that they would like to get. Please send any packages to:
SPC. Lunsford, Caleb B
A Co 116th En.
Camp Cedar 2
APOE 09331

Here's the list of stuff they would be happy to get:
New release DVD's
Boxers - M, L, XL
Socks - preferrably the ones that just cover the ankles - they only sell long ones over there)
AAA Batteries
Wife-beater under shirts - any size, any color except white
GilletteMach 3 razor blades
Microwavable meals (Not frozen ones, duh...) (That was from him, by the way...)
Little Debbie Strawberry Shortcake Rolls
Muscle Milk (at GNC)
N.O. Explode (at GNC)
Any new release CDs from popular artists
New magazines - Men's Health, Maxim,GQ, Men's Journal, etc.

Thank you to anyone that is willing to help out. I'm sure they will appreciate anything you can give.

RSWORDS 10-30-2007 01:49 PM

Y'all are great... If we could get a bunch of people to pitch in we could send Steph's cousin a GREAT DIESELBOMBERS care package. And I know he would share alot of it. How you want to handle it Scarecrow... Want us to send all the stuff to you and you can send it all at once? Or everyone could send it here to steph and I and we would send it.

DM... If you put a DB sticker in it I'll make sure to get him to slap it on a Hummer and get a pic of it with all his buddy's all decked out with all there gear.

scarecrow 10-30-2007 04:04 PM

i am up for anything. i just want to make sure they get everything they asked for.....

babydoll214 10-30-2007 08:16 PM

I was thinking that anyone who wanted to send something, just send it. They can never have too many T-Shirts, boxers, socks, food, etc. If you decide to send, CDs, DVDs or magazines, just post up here what you sent... That way they don't end up with 10 copies of Transformers... :argh:

Heck, I'm sure the more packages they get, the happier they'll be... Plus, then all of the stuff won't have to be shipped twice. (Once to me or scarecrow and then again to Caleb...)

Sound good?

Thanks again to all of you!!!

Super Dave 11-20-2007 01:20 PM

I don't know how I've missed this thread to this point. I'm in Iraq right now.
If you want to send packages, the cheapest way my wife has found to send me stuff is to pick up those flat rate boxes from the post office. You can stuff them with as much as you can, and the price is like 8 bucks. Not bad since you don't have to come up with a box and tape and all that.
I don't need anything. I stay on base and eat pretty well. I will include my address and pass on stuff to the forward operating bases where the guys don't have much. if you want.
I am looking foreward to the T-Day dinner Thrusday. It's always the best meal of the year.

The only thing I can't get here are Diesel Power magazines. If someone wants to send me their old ones, I'd greatly appreaciate it:ty:

Oh and you all rock!:usa:

babydoll214 01-08-2008 12:13 PM

Great news!!! My cousin is coming home!!! Apparently, he got a ton of stuff to share with everyone and he was very greatful. Thanks to all of you who sent packages to him! (He has been a little difficult to get in touch with, so I'm not sure exactly who sent him packages.)

If any of you were planning on sending packages his way, please take a look at the rest of this thread and send it along to one of the other deserving members.

scarecrow 01-08-2008 01:08 PM

DB Admin 01-08-2008 06:10 PM

Did he get my Package ? I enclosed a Self addressed envelope some paper and even an ink pen for a return letter from the troops for my sons safe :) as he helped me pack it full

babydoll214 01-08-2008 07:02 PM

I sent him a message right after I put up that last post to try and find out who he had gotten stuff from. I will bug him again and make sure your son gets his letter. That was a pretty cool idea!

Scarecrow... Are you sending it to my cousin's address? If so, I can get you a different name to send it to... Just to make sure someone over there actually gets it.

I just ran across this thread. A wonderful idea and it is very thoughtful of all you guys. Let me know how and to whom we can send some items to.

Are we still using the addresses in the previous posts?
