I went to fedex and they wanted $290 for 14 lbs between 2 boxes...the lady at the counter even told me to go try the post office, instead. so I'm going to the post office tomorrow, I was working from 8 to 7:30 today. should be a pretty frickin awesome care package, though: a bunch of cigars, couple books, maccadamia nuts, almonds, a couple bags of coffee and a few things to help him maintain his humidor.

oh yeah, coffee...they don't have the best coffee available if you know someone that appreciates good blends, that would make their day!

the GPS company we deal/install on aircraft is based out of canada and it's a royal pain to get stuff between here and there...but that's business/profit related, so of course that'll be difficult.

What do you guys have for a post office...like we have the US Postal Service? I'm sure they'd know if you went and talked to them. for the stuff I'm sending, I just put 'books, coffee, dry goods' on the customs description...no way I wanted to put 'cigars' on there as I don't think they'd ever reach my brother! Anyway, all I had to do was fill out a customs form with the to/from/contents info and that's it.

okay, went to the post office and they have 'flat rate' boxes in one size, specifically for sending to APO addresses and it cost me $10.

Freedom is not free, as the men and women serving, or that have served, their country in the armed forces know. They know better than anyone else could or will ever know. We as mere citizens can only hope to ,one day, glimpse the level of commitment required.

This is the very least I can do...

I am waiting a few days to send it. The owner of the cigar shop told me to stop back after this weekend and he should have a few things to throw in the box.
