RACE REPORT...

show up in Bradenton at DeSoto speedway after rain all morning, it eventually cleared and the track dried, we pulled the car out of the trailer, put 4 new sticker tires on it, went out and put it on the poll with a .2 second lead on the field, we get it back to the trailer, put it up on stands and set til about 8:30 when it started raining, they didnt call the damn show til almost 11:15....yeah we was pissed cause we couldnt load the car cause if for some miraculous miracle from god himself the rain stopped and they got it dried, we was gonna race, so by the time we get it loaded its almost 11:45, we leave the semi and the stacker at the track and head for applebee's, next week we are headed to New Smyrna Speedway, we will probably set on the poll or pretty close to it and we got a pretty good chance to win too, then we come back to Bradenton weekend after next to run the rain cancelled race plus the normal race. it will be nice if we win the points championship. the owner/driver is B.J. McLeod out of wachula florida with the number 78 A.A.C.S. super late model and he is self sponsored. we haul the car with a Sterling semi and we got a older Nascar stacker trailer. he buys our way into the track, buys us food and drinks at the track, and buys us dinner afterwards.

Sounds like fun, and a good guy to help.

I raced in the Nascar weekly series for a couple years, it's a lot of fun. Too bad Nascar hasn't figured out how to make weather rules to gaurantee fair weather...yet!

yeah, it was a good weekend, the guy has no problems with spending money either, ive worked on alot of stingy race teams that wouldnt even buy you food, after you paid to get in and work for them for free.....

A Sterling with a stacker trailer.....wow.....I thought we were big time when we graduated to an enclosed triple axle Featherlite bumper pull and a F-350 dually. LMAO

Sounds cool, though.

he also has a 2000 excursion with 8 inches of lift, 24's and 38 inch tires, the back is filled with subs, plus the Viper, yes, the kind with 10 cylinders, and the BIG boat and his little 300,000 dollar house.....and you couldnt tell if you met him though, they own B&L citrus and BJD excavating, plus i think a trucking company. ill get some pics of the transporter and the car. oh and if we win, here we come titty bar.....if i can get my preventative maintenance business going good enough you will see my name on the side...

LOGANSTANFORTH 10-26-2007 09:49 PM

he put another car together this week so we are heading to New Smyrna with a fresh ford motor, hopefully this one will run like hell.

LOGANSTANFORTH 10-29-2007 10:11 PM

fast in practice but got rained out.......heading back to bradenton next weekend for a double race, then the Governors Cup in December.

LOGANSTANFORTH 11-18-2007 01:03 PM

hurt our brand new ford motor friday night in practice, pulled out the backup car saturday with the old chevy engine and qualified 3rd for the Governors Cup 200 at New Smyrna Speedway, broke the driveshaft on our belt driven oil pump on our dry sump system, didnt hurt the motor, just low oil pressure.

Mr. Miyagi 11-18-2007 04:28 PM

How'd you guys do in the double?

LOGANSTANFORTH 11-18-2007 06:25 PM

i didnt go that weekend, but BJ won the first race and got 3rd in the second one, a spring rubber moved its way down the spring and tightened the car up, and the tires didnt have enough stagger.
