Cool, good runs.

What chassis are they running? These are super lates right?

LOGANSTANFORTH 11-18-2007 06:59 PM

Racecar Engineering chassis from here in lakeland, yes, they are super's. limited to 358 cubes and box stock 4150 holleys, we got to run goodyears at Smyrna and Hoosiers at Desoto. we dont have anymore races the rest of the year, speedweeks here we come, 9 straight nights of racing at New Smyrna......

Mr. Miyagi 11-18-2007 09:08 PM

Cool.....they run something similar up here, but the longest paved tracks are just 1/2 milers.

Did you switch to a Ford then back to a Chevy?

LOGANSTANFORTH 11-19-2007 05:21 AM

he has been running the chevy most of the year, only has 800 laps on it, they havent been able to get that ford right yet, dont know why, i dont do any engine work for them, the chevy is a PROGRESSIVE RACING ENGINES spec engine, they homebuilt the ford, they have had it apart 5 times, i dont know, do the guys in your area run tube frames or factory front clips????

Rules

Here are the rules for the tracks around here that run any Late Model or Late Model 'type' hot rod:

Evergreen--Whelen Super Stock (NASCAR NW Tour Cars)
http://www.evergreenspeedway.net/art...icle_168.shtml

Yakima--Super Late Model
http://www.yakimaspeedway.us/webs/3/...20late%20model

Yakima--Late Model Sportsman
http://www.yakimaspeedway.us/webs/3/...mode=sportsman

South Sound--Super Stock (NASCAR NW Tour Cars)
http://www.southsoundspeedway.com/superstockrules.htm

South Sound--Limited Lates (Late Model Sportsman)
http://www.southsoundspeedway.com/SportsmanRules.htm

As you can see the terms 'stock appearing' and 'stock type' appear a lot---dunno about you, but I sure LOVE gray areas in a rule book. :w2:

I don't race pavement anymore...dirt is just too much fun.

LOGANSTANFORTH 11-19-2007 04:28 PM

i was a tech inspector 5 years at a dirt track, 35 raceway about an hour south of columbus, KC raceway is close to me back home also.

Mr. Miyagi 11-19-2007 05:49 PM

The big drawback to dirt is the clean up afterwards....having a new track every lap is kinda cool, though.

Plus 110 sideways is a bit of a rush. :U:

LOGANSTANFORTH 11-19-2007 07:38 PM

what class you race??? latemodel, modified or bombers??? bombers in southern ohio are modified frames with full tilt latemodel motors and a camaro or monte carlo body hung over it, driver sets about 18 inches back from the stock position......

Mr. Miyagi 11-20-2007 09:00 PM

Ran a modified last year and will have two modifieds and a 360 sprint car next year.

I don't own anything myself anymore---just crew on the mods and will be crew chief on the sprinter.

LOGANSTANFORTH 11-21-2007 04:47 AM

until i started back with this superlate, i hadnt been to the track in several years, probably 3, just couldnt do it anymore for a long time...., its alot different now i think......
