Using still my Sony laptop.
No problems with it. Ok, the battery had to be replaced, wasn't cheap 200€(300US$)

The only thing I really hated was the preinstalled software (like the 60day student office trial packet...). Had to invest almost the same money again to get usable software.

If you really want to carry around your laptop- get a Pelicase. They can take a beat or two and still protect your laptop safely. Those neoprene or laptop cases are crap.
If you do carry around your laptop- it's a bit of money- protect it!

Can't help you with the desktop. Kicked that current sucker - just added an extra keyboard and a bigger flatscreen monitor to the laptop docking station.
Gaming is not my task...

thanks for the help guys. im probly gunna go with hp all the way around. i am used to home built desktops but i just dont have the time to make one nor the need for one. as for the student software yall are talking about that costs 60 bucks. im a student so i get the software for the 60 bucks then the school gives me an unlock code and i get it free for the life of the computer.

once again thanks for yalls help and if yall have anymore info id love to have it since i probly wont be gettin the computers for another couple weeks
