am i the only one?

i cut my front yard last weekend..... then cut my front and back yard yesterday.... i was complaining the whole time about how fast the grass grew..... THEN last night i walked into Lowes..... saw a ferterlizer spreader ON SALE..... and i had been seeing commercials saying now is the time to fertilize....... so i get one..... then go to the ferterlizer section and get some lawn fert. and then i notice next to it Rye Grass seed.... i thought to myself that a nice green lawn throughout the winter would be really nice.... so i get up early this morning and apply the fert. and seeds.... and then put out the sprinklers..... then it hits me that i'm now causing the problems i was complaining about yesterday.... but i blame it all on the media and lowes..... if it weren't for them i wouldn't have seen the commercial or seen the spreader on clearance.......

anyone else have the same sort of experience?

At least your lawn needs something other than water.
I haven't cut in two weeks.

Only thing growing for me is weeds. They are green as ever. The grass is just browning out.

 

3" of rain last night and ALL my new seeds are in the drainage curb thing..... sumbeach....

Fertilizing the same day you lay seed. Not smart
Watering the day you fertilize your yard. Not smart
Watering the yard without checking the weather forecast. Not smart
Buying into the gimmicks at Lowes. No Smart
Complaining about have to mow weekly then planting rye. Not smart

You will probably have some real green edges around your sidewalk this winter.

 

atleast something will grow.... ya i'm not the best lawn person..... but it'll be alright.... i got to learn somehow and i hate reading how-to's.... i'd rather learn what not to do myself....
