New Surround System
Well I finally got my new surround sound system working. Started with just a Yamaha Receiver and was going to use my old speakers and subwoofer but they wouldn't work with the new receiver.
Built a $900 system for around $400. Sounds great and will shake the house while watching a BluRay in DTS-HD

truly look at it before you buy it, my eyes don't like the look of plasma....... I snagged an LG 55LH90 two weeks ago, this tv roks, flat out. watching the star wars series on it now, and I got the surround crankin too ! the lg I got is 1080, 240 hz, all led backlit...... and looked way better to my eyes thqan even the samsung panel, and a lot better than any plassma, again, to me.

think of it as a 5 year investment. my set cost me 1700, I spent a lot of time actually looking at the sets in the store before I waited for the right time to buy.

At this point, I do agree that 240Hz is over ratted. I know my HD cable box is only 120Hz, and I haven't seen my BluRay broadcast over 120Hz either. Hopefully the video broadcasting technology will catch up to the video display technology. At least in my situation. Maybe I just need a different BluRay player so I can have, but not notice, the 120/240Hz difference.
