If anyone is having issues with there Eris after updating to the 2.1 Software here is the best fix so far.
You need to backup your contacts and do a factory reboot. This will wipe it clean just like you bought it from Verizon. All your pics will be stored on your Memory Card and you can sync your phone to your gmail account to get your contacts back. You will just have to redownload the apps. This can be a PITA but my phone runs 1000 tims better after the reboot.
