A few of my buddies stopped to look at a cummins last year, brand new at the dealer. They were outside with the salesman and he let them start it up. It ran for about 5 minutes then the salesman said... and I quote.... "it's not good to let the diesel idle as the carbs will gel up in them".... I don't know how they kept a straight face.

i was told that a blown egr valve wasnt covered under warranty bc i put a light bar and bumper on my truck.
i was told a blown HPOP wasnt under warranty bc i put aftermarket wheels on the truck
i was told my blown egr cooler wasnt covered because my truck wasnt bought in the state of texas (i had bought it at that dealership)
ive been told that puttin different nerf bars on my truck would void any and all waranty bc i was changing the way the truck came from the factory.
ive had alot of time spent with dealers and they r (more often that not) IDIOTS

I went to a used car dealer once to, looking for a new truck. Walking around the lot talking to the salesman about this truck and that truck when I spot a 92-96 body style Ford across the lot and asked if it was a diesel. He said "I think so" and looked at his little sheet. I walk over check over the exterior of the truck and think to myself "no Power Stroke badge, no diesel badges at all." So I pop the hood and by now the salesman is standing next to me, I take one glance at the engine and say "that aint a diesel, that's a 460 big block." He goes "how'd you do that?" I said "I know my engines" At that point, I got in my truck and left that lot. For this reason, I don't like shopping at dealers. I haven't found one yet that actually knew what they were selling.

I went to the dealer 2 weeks ago to order and oil cap and seal. A salesman walked me back to the parts dept and he was asking me what I need. I told him and he said "ya know we have a special this month, you buy a new truck you get a free oil cap." I shook my head and walked away. And apparently there is an in-house shoeshine guy and he asked if I wanted my boots polished. I was wearing distressed steel toe pull-on WORK BOOTS.
