Sgt Robert "Shane" Pugh

This was my bunk mate, friend, and my hero. We deployed together in 05... Shane got sent to another company, since there are only 2 medics per platoon. I came home, Shane didn't.

I'll always love Shane like my brother. I cant believe the sacrafice he made for us all.

On March 2, 2005,
Shane Pugh and Ellis Martin were both injured by the explosion of a roadside bomb in Iraq. Pugh, a medic in the 155th, instructed others how to treat Martin. Martin survived, Pugh did not.

For his efforts, Pugh was recognized with the Silver Star.

The Silver Star was established by Congress in 1918 and is designated solely for Heroism in Combat.

Shane Pugh is the only Silver Star recipient from the 155th.
