Default Need New Laptop!

My poor old compaq is on its last leg for the 9th time Ive finally had enough of its BS and I am in search of a new budget friendly laptop. Dont do much gaming, mainly surf the net, use it for my Ipod, camera downloads and might use it for some diagnostic crap for my trucks. Any reccomendations or what do you have and like? Thanks

X2 on the Toshiba. I haven't shopped in awhile, but I've heard prices are down; but bundled software is too. Lots of "Trial Versions" loaded. I guess you have to shop around.

when i was like 15 my parents spent 1500 on a toshiba laptop... BIG EFFIN MISTAKE within a year... it was unusable... I only got to use it maybe 2 months...the rest of the time it was in california getting repairs....

the computer im on now is a dell...it was codys when he was 16... hes now 21.... NEVER had one problem with this computer not one..

he bought a acer ( i think) laptop.. it stopped working within 2 years

his grandparents bought him a 10" dell laptop for his 21st birthday... and so far not one problem...

so im gonna have to say...go with a dell.. thats all ill ever buy anymore.. specially since the computer im on is a little over 5 years old without one problem...

Got a Toshiba back in Dec. of 06 ($800 Wal-Mart special). Upgraded the ram from a gig to 2 gig, and the only issue I had is the HD crapped out (had been formatted too many times). Other than XP Media Center, had no problems with it.

So in other words, Toshiba.
