Well, so much for better internet: I even paid for it and it wouldn't handle uploading any pics. Hopefully my boy will upload a few here and there in the next few days. I'll see if I can get him to do a few.

We made it out of CT ok, back through NY and are now in PA. Later today we will head to Indianapolis, IN. The stuff we have seen and done!! Wow. . . . I will have to set down here and fill you all in.

Funny you should say that! We were just about to get off the ferry coming back from Liberty Island and got into a conversation with the family in front of us. The dad said he was going to help his little girl make up a presentation of what she had just seen and learned for her first grade 'show and tell'. What was funny was her dad admitted he had never been to see the Statue. I told him it was no big deal. He said, 'No, I'm 27 and I have never been here before'. I told him we were just lucky to have been able to come out the first time when we were so young. Then he said what was so bad was the fact that he has lived there his whole life..... Now, isn't that the way it goes!! We still need to see some things around home . . . . . . (Guess we better get busy!)

I guess we will head up north toward Lansing, MI in the morning. I suppose we will have to get headed toward home as we have been gone from home since the 3rd of April. One of these days the credit card is going to not work for fuel And I think that the vacation will run out soon too Oh well.

We are debating going on up north and across the Mackinac Bridge, then to Mt Rushmore and on home from there. Wish you all were on the way so we could say hi . . . Guess we will have to do this again someday and throw out the 'schedule' . . . .

We were there!! We came through there to meet up with an old friend I haven't seen in almost 20 years. It was fun to meet up with him and his family. He goes to help investigate train 'incidents'. He has to get the video and information off the 'black box' from the train. Most of the collisions with passenger cars are caused by people trying to beat a train at a crossing. I never knew that they had those recorders on board.

Well, here are the states we have visited so far:

We are up in Michigan right now. When we leave in the morning, we might head out up north and go over the Mackinac Bridge before we head West again. Then we just have to decide from there if we are going N.D. or S.D. I think south so we can go by Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Then it will be mostly a mad dash back home!!! I am usually the barn sour one; but these 'people' I'm traveling with are starting to get a worse case of it than what I currently have . . . .

Your avatar sums up what we saw pretty well We ran into that snow storm in S.D. and WY. In fact, I have a good pic of what greated me early in the morning when we got up to leave WY the next morning.

We made it home Fri night It is funny: 'They' always accuse me of being 'barn sour'; but, I just sat back and listened to the comments about how if we drove all night we could be home by a certain time. I'll be sure to rub that in every once in a while!!

We have been pretty busy since we got back, but we are going to work on those pics and get them up. It will hopefully happen here pretty soon.
I also have a lot of fun things I can share with you all here too. We really did get to go see a lot of things. It was fun for all and I think they will enjoy this trip for a long time!!

Smile Thanks Everyone!!! We Had a Great Trip!

Thank You All for all your well wishes! It was such a good trip. I didn't even have to change a tire in all that. In fact, except for a few rock chips; nothing got any damage except for that moron who hit my trailer in Jersey City. All in all, I think we did pretty good. Some very rough stats: We did about 10,000 miles. We hit 24 states in all. I made up this map to show where all we were. For what ever reason this website doesn't have D.C. as a choice. I have to wonder if that isn't a political statement of sorts!

Now, we saw some neat things everywhere we went! I just have to post a few here:

This one says it all for itself. I will add that it was within walking distance of the Capitol as we were walking to find lunch. We ate at the taco joint on the corner. Notice on the other side is a Subway. I guess everything you could possibly need is right there. I tagged my picture with the statement: "Now we know why some things happen the way the do there"!! Seems to make sense to me now

Of course there were important things we saw too! I really enjoyed the air and space Smithsonian. I was surprised to see they already had Space Ship One from Scaled Composites on display. That was the winner of the commercial space race just a few years ago. We are trying to get the rest of our pics posted. We will get it done here pretty soon. What with catching up at work (I didn't think they could save any of my work for me. I stand corrected. And almost caught up!), getting ready for a graduation, other customers calling and wanting spring type things done; I have been a little busy. Let's just put it this way: the truck isn't unloaded yet. . . .

I do have to post one more pic here: We stopped in a mall in PA. after Gettysburg. We had come back out to the trailer to have a sandwich and noticed these ladies after their shopping experience. I couldn't help myself. Actually I think it is great! My wife says I should simply ask: How many of you know where they have been? (Hint: "I Do!!")

I have lots of others. I will just have to get busy and get them up on photobucket so you can all browse at your leisure.

Oh, I do have one more to post! This is now my current favorite. It just says it all I think. Of course there will be others to watch that come up on the right that are related to this video. To me it just explains a lot:

(Ok, I guess to get to the others, you will have to open up youtube and type in 'Obama 57 states' and then you will have the others come up on the right when you watch it. Make sure you see the ones about his teleprompter quitting! Of course there are lots more . . .

Like I said, thanks for all the well wishes! It is great to be back home!! What a fun trip! And if you all are ever out and about like this and are near Southern ID: Please don't hesitate to give a yell. We could meet up or put you up for the night or something!! After all, isn't this all about the fun and friends we meet along the way!!
